Recently, the online evaluation results of the 50th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva were officially published. China Huaneng has won two gold awards again.
"The Generalized Comprehensive Carnot Cycle System of Supercritical Carbon Dioxide" is an independently-owned and patented invention with intellectual property rights by Huaneng Xi'an Thermal Power Research Institute. It innovates a universal method for building a cycle system, establishes a systematic original theory and complete equipment design technology system for supercritical carbon dioxide cycle power generation technology, and has been applied in multiple fields such as efficient and flexible thermal power, solar thermal energy storage power generation, and special power generation.

The patent "Super Capacitor Hybrid Energy Storage Assisted Thermal Power Plant AGC Frequency Regulation Method and Device" was jointly developed by Huaneng Luoyuan Power Plant and Xi'an Thermal Power Research Institute. It addresses the issues of slow response and low accuracy of AGC (Automatic Generation Control) of thermal power plants. It innovates an "energy storage - rapid response - intelligent control" scheme based on hybrid energy storage. Its intelligent control strategy has improved the AGC frequency regulation performance indicators of the units by two times, significantly enhancing the adaptability to grid fluctuations, thus achieving the transformation of thermal power plants from "passive following" to "active supporting" of grid frequency, contributing to the building of the new power system.
