Facing the Future: China Digital Energy Entrepreneurs Visit Xiong'an New Area

2023-09-07

On September 7th and 8th, at the cordial invitation of Mr. Li Duan, General Manager of PowerChina Real Estate, the "China Digital Energy Entrepreneurs" cohort from Alliance Institute visited Xiong'an New Area. Known as a "millennium project and national priority," this future city served as the backdrop for exploring the core drivers behind high-quality development.

Over the two-day study tour, participants followed the route of the national leadership's inspection, visiting key sites including the Xiong'an Rongdong Smart Experience Center, the Xiong'an Impression Exhibition Hall, the Center for Migrant Workers' Rights Protection, the PowerChina Smart Building, the Xiong'an New Area Planning Exhibition Hall, and the Xiong'an Intercity Station and National Trade Center area. Through these visits, they gained a comprehensive understanding of the planning concepts and construction achievements defining this city of the future.

At the Xiong'an Rongdong Smart Experience Center, participants experienced the planning wisdom of "adhering to one blueprint to the end." At the Xiong'an Impression Exhibition Hall, immersive digital imagery brought Xiong'an's historical legacy and future vision to life. At the Center for Migrant Workers' Rights Protection, the group witnessed the meticulous care taken to safeguard the rights of construction workers, experiencing the profound warmth of a "people's city built for the people."

Throughout Xiong'an, digital scenarios are ubiquitous. Staggered display panels, versatile digital screens, and striking glasses-free 3D technology push the application of digitalization to new heights. From smart simulations in urban planning to real-time monitoring of construction processes and intelligent management of urban operations, the digital twin city here transforms from concept to reality, allowing every visitor to truly grasp the profound meaning of "digital empowerment for cities."

At the PowerChina Smart Building, participants gained an up-close look at PowerChina's deep engagement in Xiong'an New Area. As one of the first central enterprises to enter Xiong'an, PowerChina has been deeply involved in its construction. Its "PowerChina Smart City" project—integrating advanced concepts such as green architecture, smart parks, and industry-city integration—has become a vivid example of high-quality development in the region.

In the afternoon, the Energy Entrepreneurs held a thematic discussion with PowerChina Real Estate leadership at the PowerChina Building in Xiong'an. The two sides engaged in an in-depth and efficient dialogue on how PowerChina Real Estate can effectively contribute to the high-standard, high-quality construction of Xiong'an New Area. PowerChina representatives detailed the company's project portfolio, construction progress, and future plans in Xiong'an, while participants, drawing on their respective enterprises' practices, discussed topics including smart park operations, green energy applications, and digital technology integration.

The trip to Xiong'an proved highly rewarding for the participants, offering four key takeaways:

1. Corporate Mission: They gained deep insights into the development of the PowerChina brand and the construction of the PowerChina Smart City project, witnessing the mission and responsibility of state-owned enterprises in serving national strategy.

2. Historical Vision: They absorbed Xiong'an's profound historical and cultural heritage and its magnificent construction journey, feeling the broad vision of the millennium plan.

3. Digital Reality: They personally experienced the practical significance of digital empowerment for cities, appreciating the infinite possibilities of digital technology.

4. Resource Connection: Most importantly, through in-depth exchanges with alumni enterprises, they connected resources, sparked new ideas, and gained fresh inspiration for their own business development.

Xiong'an is a city in the making—and a window to the future. Though the two-day visit was brief, Xiong'an's construction philosophy—"world-class vision, international standards, Chinese characteristics, and high-point positioning"—has left a lasting impression on every participant.

From digital energy to the city of the future, from corporate practice to national strategy, the "China Digital Energy Entrepreneurs" will continue to visit more benchmark destinations, exploring the innovative code of high-quality development.
